TIAC 2027 / About the conference
For authors.
For the business of books.
Practical learning. Useful conversations. A community that understands the work behind the words. The Toronto Indie Author Conference brings independent authors together to build sustainable publishing careers.
01 / Why we gather
Your books are only part of the story.
An author business brings its own questions: how to reach readers, make informed publishing decisions and keep creating over the long term. TIAC makes space for those conversations, with a focus on the realities of independent publishing in Canada.
Learn
Practical knowledge.
Explore the business of being an author, with ideas you can bring back to your own publishing practice.
Connect
People who understand.
Meet other independent authors and publishing professionals. Share questions, experiences and perspectives.
Grow
Room for your next chapter.
Whether you are starting out or developing an established catalogue, there is value in learning alongside your peers.
From past conferences
Learning and connection, in person.
Presentations and the conversations between them are part of TIAC’s story. A look back at the 2026 conference.

03 / Built by authors
An annual gathering.
A year-round community.
Founded by Starlit Publishing, TIAC was first held in 2024. The conference is now organized by Indie Authors Canada, a not-for-profit supporting Canada’s independent author community through education, resources and connection.
The conference and IAC’s year-round webinars are separate programs, connected by the same focus on practical learning and sustainable author careers.
